Topics of interest
This year the main theme is “Safety in a digitalized and fast-changing world. How smart will injury prevention get?” The event will:
- highlight the potential and the risks that new digital solutions offer to injury prevention
- demonstrate good practices in prevention, including key priority areas such as child safety, consumer product safety, safety for older people and safety of vulnerable road users
- highlight the achievements in injury prevention, review progress made in injury surveillance and research and in national and local safety promotion programmes across Europe
- reinforce collaboration between experts across Europe and within existing networks such as the network for injury surveillance (EU-IDB).
The organisers look forward to receiving abstracts concerning the following topics of interest (in alphabetic order):

- Alcohol, drugs and medicines related injuries
- Burns prevention
- Child and adolescent safety
- Consumer product safety and safety of services
- Digital solutions
- Falls among elderly people
- Home safety
- Injury surveillance, research and evaluation methods
- Intentional injuries (Violence)
- Intervention design, monitoring and evaluation
- Occupational safety solutions – Transfer to home & leisure safety
- Prevention of intoxications
- Road safety – Vulnerable road users
- Safe Communities
- Safety education, communications and social marketing
- Safety legislation and enforcement
- Safety promotion policies and action plans
- Sports and recreational safety
- Technology – Solutions and applications for safety
- Trauma care and injury prevention
- Water safety and drowning prevention
In plenary sessions cross-cutting issues will be addressed, alternated by concurrent breakout and e-poster sessions addressing topical issues such as listed above.

Who should participate?
The conference will bring together people with a professional interest in injury prevention and safety promotion, including:
- Decision makers in local, regional and national governments
- Professionals working in public and private institutions responsible for health and safety, health promotion, consumer protection, housing, urban planning and education
- Researchers in academic institutions, institutes of public health, research institutions and statistical offices
- Professionals working in private businesses, e.g. in product design, manufacturing and services, or in health, care and welfare services
Registration and fees
Registration will be open from 01 March 2022
- Early Bird fee (until 15 April 2022): 260 EUR, including VAT
- Standard fee (after 15 April 2022): 360 EUR, incl. VAT (EuroSafe members 260 EUR)
Conference registration includes attendance and catering for both days.
Abstract submission
- All abstracts must be submitted electronically before 31 January 2022 (max. 400 words in English - Please follow the instructions in the online submission form)
- After having submitted your abstract, you will receive a confirmation of receipt
- Abstracts will be reviewed by at least two members of the Programme Committee
- Authors will be notified of acceptance as of 15 March 2022
- Abstract authors must register for the conference before 15 April 2022 (registration ensures publication and presentation)
- All accepted abstracts will be published in an abstract book on the conference website after the event
